It had been a busy week for Milioti since we saw her just last Monday, at Michael Kors’ party at Bemelmans Bar: Over the weekend she was at the Critics Choice Awards, where she took home Best Actress in a Limited Series for “The Penguin.”
“It was very, very joyful, very unexpected,” she said. “I was so moved and honored and it was really lovely.”
Her relationship with Michael Kors is relatively new, and she could identify some looks her character Sofia would’ve liked from the brand.
“He works with a lot of the color black. So I think that would’ve been in that universe,” she said.
Byrne was fresh from Sundance, where her film “If I Had Legs I’d Kick You” was one of the festival’s buzziest debuts.
“It was so special. Very emotional — for Mary [Bronstein, the writer/director] it was a very personal story for her,” Byrne said. “It was so emotional. I was so delighted.”
The actress has known Kors for years.
“He is a big Broadway supporter. I’ve done a Broadway show, which he came to, and he’s always so lovely and warm and kind, and he’s such a class act,” she said. “So I’m always delighted when I can come to the show.”
