Carrie Bickmore shocks with new tattoo: 'Hardcore!'
Carrie Bickmore has left her fans in shock after getting a surprise new tattoo on Thursday.
The 39-year-old took to Instagram to share a video of her lying back in a chair as a tattoo artist worked on her right ankle.
While her expression was hidden behind a pink face mask — that perfectly matched with her top — it was clear from her body language that it wasn’t a pain-free process.
“Got inked...” the mum-of-three captioned the post which also included a close-up shot of her dainty design: the letters ‘a,’ ‘e,’ ‘o’ and ‘u’ with a music note in place of the fifth vowel, ‘i’.
As she explained in a video over on the account for her radio show with Tommy Little, the Carrie and Tommy Show, that the tattoo is a sweet nod to her kids, 12-year-old Ollie, Evie, 5, and 18-month-old Adelaide.

The ‘u’ is a touching tribute to her partner, Chris Walker, who also got inked with exactly the same design as Carrie’s except he switched out the music note for a cricket bat in memory of his late brother.
“The ‘u’ is each other,” she explained gesturing to Chris.
The Project host’s fans flooded the comments section with praise and delight for her “hardcore” move.
“You’re brave,” one wrote.
“Tough chick!” said another.
Post-lockdown locks
Carrie has been boldly mixing up her look of late. She went for a dramatic haircut at the end of October, lopping off her long blonde locks in favour of a cropped do’ post-lockdown in Melbourne.
She took to TikTok to debut her fresh cut writing: “Goodbye Lockdown. Goodbye Locks” on a video of her epic transformation.
Later, she reflected on her image shakeup on Instagram by sharing some snaps from the set of The Project.
“Sometimes a change is as good as a holiday and there hasn’t been many holidays this year!” she joked in the caption.
