Caroline Stanbury Makes Fans Cringe With 'Painful' Video of Infection

Real Housewives of Dubai star Caroline Stanbury is thankfully on the mend after suffering a horrific eye infection that had her eye looking every color but what it should—including puffy red lids, a yellow and red sclera, and green pus gushing from her waterline.

The reality star shared the beginnings of her symptoms late last week, uploading a selfie-style video from bed to TikTok showing her left eye appearing red and swollen.

"Does anyone know what this is ?" she wrote across the video, revealing that when she woke up her husband had to wipe it clean so she could "actually open it," but it was still only able to open about halfway.

She also confirmed at the time that it wasn't a stye, as there was "no lump."

Many suggested at the time that she appeared to have come down with a case of pink eye, otherwise known as conjunctivitis, while irritation from lash glue and allergic reactions were also tossed around.

Not long after, she revealed that the infection landed her in the hospital, posting another video that showed the eye swollen shut and weeping. Unfortunately, they left with just as many questions as they went in with. While she seemingly received a diagnosis of "intense conjunctivitis," she was left dealing with the "so painful" swelling and seepage.

She returned to the hospital, where she received a "burst" of antibiotics and an MRI to get a better look at the swelling, but was again released with "no improvement," explaining in another video that, despite plenty of pain meds, it "really feels like my eye might burst" with the bonus of an intense "burning sensation" behind the eye. Doctors warned her that the symptoms could last for weeks, but by the weekend it was looking "a million times better."

Still, fans were on edge over the infection, frequently reminding her to throw away her mascaras, eyeliners, and other potentially infected makeup products and wash her makeup brushes and pillows well.

"Glad your eye is getting better," someone else commented, admitting, "You were far more calm about it than I would have been 😂👍🏻."
