Cardi B baffles fans with see-through optical illusion dress

Rapper Cardi B has left fans puzzled but impressed after she stepped out in a very confusing, and very revealing designer dress.

The WAP singer had Instagram followers doing a double-take over the weekend when she uploaded a photo of herself and partner Offset in which she is sporting a number by up and coming designer Pierre-Louis Auvray.

The dress is an optical illusion of sorts, featuring a skin-tight body in an intergalactic pattern with a printed image of a female body.

Making the dress confusing is the fact that the material is also transparent, meaning Cari’s famous tattoos and her black G-string are visible, and it’s hard to tell where her body ends and the print begins.

The dress is bordered with a stiff white knit that frames the chest and extends down the side seams, giving the futuristic look an even more illusionary edge, with the rear as transparent as the front.

Needless to day the mind-bending look had fans as puzzled as they were admiring, with a video of the star getting into her car in the outfit prompting a flurry of comments.

“I’m tryna figure out if that’s just [one] piece,” one fan wrote.

“This fit confuses me,” another confessed.

“I don't understand it,” another agreed. “But you look hella cute.”

“Love the outfit,” another wrote.

The designer is a recent arrival on the fashion scene according to Fashion Bomb, who report the recent design school graduate is set to have his brand carried by US company Carlisle Collection.

A photo of the dress in the showroom clears up much of onlooker’s confusions, with the female form print and sheer red body easier to spot on the rack.
