Bunnings mum transforms old TV unit into 'stunning' kids kitchen
A woman’s incredible transformation of an old TV unit into a kids dream play kitchen has left DIYers everywhere impressed.
Sharing before and after photos to the Bunnings Mums Australia Facebook group, Clara Bradley revealed with the help of the popular hardware store and a few finishing touches from Kmart, she was able to put this together for just $65.
“I saw an old tv unit for free and thought surely something could be done to it and not be thrown into landfill. Then the idea of a kiddies kitchen came to me,” Clara tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
Clara explained she first removed one wall inside the cabinet to make more bench space (braced underneath) and then used one of the shelves to extend the bench.

She used self adhesive tiles from Bunnings to cover bench top - $1.50 each - and also got handles, white paint and blackboard paint from the store.
The sink and stove were finds on Facebook marketplace for just $10, and then she finished everything off with accessories, like the cooking utensils from Kmart.
“It was fun to do, if only my own kitchen was this cute,” she tells us.
The post took off and received over 3.2k likes and more than 600 comments.
“Awesome idea! And good quality too. A lot of the kids kitchens fall apart and break so easily. This will last a life time,” one impressed person commented.
“Wow that is stunning,” another agreed.
While a third wrote: “Amazing. It looks even more beautiful than store bought ones.”
She also added in the Facebook post: “Shame my kids are in their 20's lol!”
Before revealing the kitchen had found a good home.
“OMG I cant thank everyone enough on all the lovely and positive comments, this sold today and is going to a home daycare so all the kiddies can enjoy,” she added.
