Bunnings $5 designer doormat hack perfect for plant lovers

A woman has shared a gorgeous styling hack perfect for plant lovers that cost her just a few dollars to put together and uses a simple Bunnings doormat.

Adelaide mum Sue Etherington took to a Bunnings Facebook group to share her creation in which she used doormats and twine to really take her plant pots to the next level.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle, Sue said she had seen someone do something similar online and decided to give it a go herself to help decorate a studio space for her business Flaming Flamingo.

“I designed it to make it my own style for my studio,” she tells us. “I like creating decor that is more unique and cheap.”

In her post she explained she used two mats - that cost just $2.50 each - for each pot.

“I laid two mats flat and used twine to stitch one side together, and decorated them with twine on one and some leftover jute ribbon on the other,” she explained in her post.

“Then wrapped the mats around the pot and used the twine to stitch the back together.”

“I'm loving the feedback from everyone who hasn't seen it before,” she tells us.

And indeed her post was flooded with hundreds of comments, with some even asking if she could share a how-to tutorial online.

“That looks incredible,” one person wrote.

“How innovative. Love them,” another agreed.

While a third added: “I’m going to have to try this.”
