Aldi and Bunnings help woman create budget birthday platter
A woman’s incredible - and mouth-watering - grazing platter creation has gone viral online after she revealed it cost her just over $100 to make thanks to Aldi and Bunnings.
Posting a photo of the huge platter into an Aldi Facebook group, she revealed she had been quoted hundreds of dollars for something similar for her partner’s birthday.
“Thought I can give it a go as been quoted hundreds of $$$$ to get professionally done, so off to Aldi I go and amazingly found everything (& bit more) for total of $110,” she revealed.
“Plus off-cut board from Bunnings for $2! Friend to style it with me - AMAZING !! Bit pleased with myself it turned out so well.”

As the reactions flooded in, she went on to explain she had bought cheeses, fruit sticks, bread sticks, chocolates, olives, sun-dried tomatoes and more from the German supermarket giant.
The she was able to get her hands on an off-cut piece of laminated wood in a clearance box at Bunnings Warehouse for just $2.
Her post received hundreds of comments within the first 24 hours.
“Absolutely fantastic job!!! Great savings but more importantly it. Looks terrific,” one person raved, while others revealed the huge amounts they had been quoted to have a platter put together professionally.
“My daughter is turning 18 in July and we were quoted $660! Now I know we can do it thanks to Aldi,” was one comment.
“Well done! I was quoted $450 for about 20 people, another $50 if I wanted to use their tablecloths......um, no thank you!” another person said.
