'Love it': The budget Aldi appliance that lasts 'years'

Aldi's Special Buys are renowned for causing shoppers to whip themselves into a frenzy in a bid to get their hands on the limited-time offers, but how do the bigger items fare once safely home?

Well, according to a recent Facebook post, when it comes to the supermarket's appliance brand Stirling, they run better than almost anyone expected.

A dishwasher on sale from the brand received rave reviews this week when a curious mum asked for opinions after spotting the $350 budget buy in her local store.

"What's everyone's thoughts on this dishwasher?" the NSW mum asked a popular Aldi Facebook group, sharing a snap of the stainless steel dishwasher.

Many took to the comments to report that when it came to the dishwasher, and other product from the brand, they got years of use for a fraction of the typical price.

"I’ve had mine for about 4 years and love it," one happy customer reported.

"We have had ours for 3 years and it’s been awesome, great value for money!" another agreed.

"Brilliant," another wrote. "Ours was great. Lasted nearly 6 years. Great for the price."

"Yes nearly 5 years can’t fault it," another agreed.

It wasn't just the dishwashers getting shoutouts either, plenty of other products from the brand got five stars from Facebook users.

"Years ago, 9 actually, I purchased a convection oven Stirling brand," one woman wrote. "Never skipped a beat. I hope you all have the same positive product experience."

"I’ve had the Aldi top loader washing machine for 5 years," another reported. "Still going strong."

Not everyone was thrilled with the purchases, however.

On Product Review some shoppers did report issues with the dishwasher, writing that the machine needs regular cleaning to keep it running smoothly, and some reviews from a few years back reported their buys were faulty.

With a three years warranty, faulty buys are covered but for some, the frustration ultimately wasn't worth the trip to the Special Buys aisle.
