Dearest gentle reader—prepare to feast your eyes on the cutest pictures you've ever seen. Bridgerton season 4 is well underway and as a surprise for fans, the team shared a series of utterly adorable behind-the-scenes photos on Christmas Day. Even Lady Whistledown herself could not have seen this festive surprise coming.

The photos show the cast reuniting at a table read for the upcoming season, which will center around Benedict Bridgerton's (Luke Thompson) love story with newcomer to the show, Sophie (Yerin Ha). In the first photo, Thompson smiles with Ha (who appears to be wearing the very on-trend Ganni peplum tie top, by the way, which is promising fashion news for the season 4 press tour).

Another photo featured Thompson sitting with Ruth Gemmell, who plays his mother, Lady Violet, and Hannah Dodd, who plays his sister, Francesca. Also spotted at the table read were Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Polly Walker (Lady Featherington), Victor Alli (Lord Sterling), Geraldine Alexander (Mrs. Wilson), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley). A final picture even showed Harry Potter's Katie Leung (who will play Sophie's stepmother) and Isabella Wei (who will play Sophie's sister).

There were a few notable absences from the group, including Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton, who played last season's central couple, Penelope and Colin, and Jonathan Bailey, who, since leading season 2 of the show, has been busy with roles in Heartstopper, Wicked, and Fellow Travelers. But fear not, gentle reader, all are confirmed to be returning to the show in some capacity.

In season 4 of Bridgerton, Benedict falls for Sophie in a Cinderella-inspired tale of mistaken identities and class politics. "I think the main thing we can expect is a really nice mix of fairy tale and reality," teased Thompson to Shondaland, who takes on the leading role this season. "We’ve got this fairy-tale love story, yes, but it’s also got the Bridgerton element of trying to tether [that story] to some sort of reality as well. So, we’ll see how that pans out!"

Added Ha, "You can expect this emotional tug of war, this kind of push and pull between what their hearts desire and what society desires for them."
