Brides ditch traditional dresses for bridal bodysuit trend

Looks like brides might be set to ditch the tradition full-length gown on their wedding days in 2021, as a new bridal bodysuit trend gains traction in the first weeks of the year

A video of a very daring and innovative take on the classic bridal gown is causing a stir after it was shared to Instagram by designer Morilee.

The Poesy gown features a detachable tulle skirt, with a beaded wedding ‘romper’ beneath for the daring summer bride to stretch her legs and spread her wings.

A video of the gown in action shows a model posing in what looks like a traditional long-sleeved wedding dress before she rips off the skirt for a dramatic reveal of the bodysuit beneath.

As the model struts towards the camera, the intricate detailing and short-short style of the bodysuit is put on full display.

Where a similarly avant-garde wedding bodysuit had viewers divided a couple of years ago, this playful number has earned almost nothing but praise from shoppers.

“Love love love this!!!!!” on person wrote.

“That is gorgeous,” another agreed.

“Dream dress,” a third dubbed the look.

“OMG just found my wedding dress/romper!!” one besotted bride declared.

It looks like the tide is well and truly turning towards the bridal bodysuit trend, and 2021 weddings just got a whole lot more comfortable for the ladies of the hour.

If you’re feeling bold, but not sure you can ditch the skirt entirely just yet, this stunning number from ASOS perfectly falls between traditional bride, and modern-day woman with a cheeky peek of legs but a safe lace overlay.
