Bride's text slamming wedding guest's gift slated online
A bride has been roasted online after sending a passive aggressive text to her wedding guest over their gift.
The wedding guest put together a hamper filled with sweets for the couple’s big day but was shocked when she got a message from the bride warning her off ever giving a bride and groom the same thing again.
"I want to thank you for coming to the wedding Friday," the text from the bride, which was revealed to local paper The Hamilton Spectator, read.
"I'm not sure if it's the first wedding you have been to, but for your next wedding … people give envelopes. I lost out on $200 covering you and your dates plate . … and got fluffy whip and sour patch kids in return. Just a heads-up for the future."

The story was originally published in 2013 but has gained traction again after it was posted to a Reddit group, with people shocked at the audacity of the bride.
“What planet is this horrible bride living on?? If you don’t like or want the gift, then re-gift the damn thing and move on with your life. You do not write a snarky email to the guest informing them that they should have been aware that they were costing the bride x amount of money and their gift didn’t measure up,” one person wrote.
“What a jerk. I remember not all my guests gave a card, and you know what, I loved that they were there to dance and laugh and eat with me. I had friends decline to come to my wedding because they couldn’t afford a gift, and I was so confused because I wasn’t inviting them for money. I was really hurt; I’d rather have had them there,” another said.
One former bride commented saying: “We received loads of photo frames, I would have preferred snacks”.
It comes just days after one bride complained about one of her wedding guest’s excuses for not coming to her wedding amid the coronavirus.
