Brian Austin Green Has Enough Kids to Form a ZIP Code

Brian Austin Green is famously associated with a five-digit ZIP code (that's 90210 for the uninitiated), but he's first and foremost a father of five.

"I am about 18 years away from dealing with the empty nest," Green, whose children range in age from 22 to 2, told E! News in 2022. "I think leading by example is the best way with the kids," he continued. "I can't talk about the importance of something if I myself am not doing it."

"So, funny story. I haven't really planned for any of my kids," he shared in 2024. "Every time, it's been, 'Oh, it's OK. We can do this.' I love my kids, and I wasn't against any of them, but I've never experienced that thing of looking at a pregnancy test and hoping that it's positive and preparing that way."

Vanessa Marcil

Marcil and Green met on the set of Beverly Hills, 90210, in 1999, welcomed Kassius in March 2002 and split the following year. They've had a contentious relationship since, with Marcil publicly accusing Green of being an absentee father and Green insisting that, if anything, she kept their son from him when he was sick.

During a September 2023 episode of the podcast Oldish, which Green hosts alongside fiancée Sharna Burgess and 90210 alum Randy Spelling, the '90s icon revealed that his years-long battle with vertigo made it "very difficult" for him to see his son at times.

"Those years that he wasn't able to go see Kassius, Vanessa made no effort to make sure Brian got time with him," Burgess said in defense of her ex. "Instead, she painted him as an absent father who chose not to be around for him. And I'm sure that information was fed to Kass, and I can't imagine how damaging that was for him."

Megan Fox

Fox and Green started dating around 2004 and married in 2010. The Jennifer's Body actress filed for divorce in 2015, when the couple had just two kids, Noah and Bodhi, but they reconciled while she was pregnant with their third. They split for good in 2020 and finalized their divorce at the start of 2022.

Green has said that he and Fox now "co-parent really well together."

"When we need to, we communicate really well, we are open to things, we don't take things personally," he said on his podcast. "It is my goal, and I think it's her goal as well, that the kids are in as healthy an environment as they can be in."

The Dancing With the Stars alum and Beverly Hills, 90210 star got engaged in July 2023, after nearly three years of dating and just over a year after the birth of their son,  Zane. They were first set up on a coffee date by a mutual business manager.

What happened with Brian Austin Green and Vanessa Marcil?

Green and Marcil do not have a particularly good relationship, as she's claimed on a number of occasions that Green wasn't much of a father figure to their son—an accusation he's denied.

In February 2023, for instance, Marcil responded to an Instagram user to say that she and Green "didn’t & don’t co-parent. I raised my son alone." To which Green shot back on Instagram Stories, “So, I can’t tell you all how frustrating it is to read continued lies from a 50+ year old woman on social media like she is still in high school.”

“Megan [Fox] and I bust our asses to give Kass a well rounded childhood since his mom was rarely there,” he continued. “I’m assuming that’s why she posts so much of him now. When will she just GO AWAY.”

Who are Brian Austin Green's children?

Kassius Lijah

Born March 15, 2002, Kassius is the oldest of Green's five sons. In a 2023 episode of Lance Bass’s podcast “Frosted Tips with Lance Bass,” Green talked about Kassius (nicknamed "Kash") coming out as gay, admitting that it was a "challenge" for him at first.

“I would get into these conservations with Kash where it was like I really wanted to understand the things that seemed so different to me at first,” Green shared. “And then you realize, ‘Oh, this isn’t different at all.’ It’s just your choice of partner. It doesn’t affect me at all.”

“And that’s the thing I’m always trying to beat into people now—it does not affect you," he added. "Why do you care so much? And why are you trying to somehow bully your feelings and your opinion into something that literally does not affect you at all?”

Noah Shannon

Noah (seen far right in the image above) was born on Sept. 27, 2012, two years into Green and Fox's marriage. His parents are often criticized online because he keeps his hair long and wears dresses—a choice they lovingly accept.

"Noah started wearing dresses when he was about 2, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is," Fox once told Glamour. "Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want. And that doesn't even have to have anything to do with your sexuality."

For his part, Green said in 2017, when Noah was 4, "I've heard from some people that they don't agree, they don't agree with him wearing dresses. To them I say, 'I don't care.'...It's his life. He's not harming anyone wearing a dress. So, if he wants to, awesome. Good on him."

Bodhi Ransom

Bodhi (far left in the image above) was born on Feb. 12, 2014. Green once responded to critics of the child's long hair, saying, "Some people like boys and men with long hair. Some people don't. Both opinions are OK." Hopefully the haters are catching on.

Journey River

Journey (above right) was born on Aug. 4, 2016, less than a year after Fox first filed for divorce from Green.

"Brian and Megan have been working on themselves as individuals and things have gotten better between them as a couple," an insider told E! News of their reconciliation at the time. "They have been getting along great. They are best friends and know each other very well."

They eventually split for good in 2020.

Zane

Shortly after welcoming Zane in June 2022, Green got a vasectomy. "Zane was born, and I was like, 'I think it's time to close the shop,'" he said on his podcast Oldish.

"I was really, really grateful for that," Burgess chimed in. "It was such a big and beautiful thing he did, and it secures comfort and no stress in our sex life, not worrying about if we are or if we aren't, which is such a gift. Then, we can move forward and plan if that should be in the stars for us."

The dancer didn't rule out the possibility of more children but stressed that it would require more planning and likely IVF.
