Boy Was Frustrated Playing with His Sister's Dollhouse. Then His Mom Did Something Magical (Exclusive)

One little boy received a super surprise this Christmas.

When Molly Whiting’s son Milo expressed his frustration with having to play with his big sister’s dollhouse, she decided to create a special gift for him. Inspired by Milo’s love for superheroes, Molly transformed a secondhand dollhouse into a superhero-themed multi-story pad, which went viral after she shared her project on TikTok.

The idea for the superhero dollhouse came during a bedtime conversation between Molly and Milo. “I pulled up Pinterest for a little inspo,” Molly recalls exclusively to PEOPLE.

After finishing her daughter’s room for her birthday, she was eager to start designing the bedroom Milo shares with his younger brother. As they scrolled through ideas, Milo spotted a Spider-Man-themed room and exclaimed, “Mommy, I want THAT!” she says.

This sweet moment turned into something bigger. “Milo began dreaming not just of a Spider-Man room, but an entire superhero house,” Molly explains.

With Christmas approaching, Molly was determined to create a one-of-a-kind gift: a superhero-themed dream house, after seeing he was tired of playing with his sister's. At first, she looked to see if there were already-made houses but had no luck. “It didn’t take long for me to decide that we had to make it happen for him as one of his Christmas gifts,” she says.

“I wanted it to be a vibrant, colorful space where all of his favorite characters could come together under one roof,” she explains. “What made this project so special was embracing the idea of coloring outside the lines — just like Milo himself.”

Molly transformed the house into a miniature Marvel universe with each room thoughtfully designed to reflect her son’s favorite superheroes. On the top floor, Molly created a Spider-Man room. “Spider-Man is his favorite so obviously he gets the best and biggest room,” she writes in the TikTok video.

The second floor features two rooms: a split room for Captain America and Iron Man, while another room showcases the Hulk. The bottom floor was designed as a mini weight and game room, where Molly plans to add an arcade game area, climbing rope and skate ramp.

Molly’s older daughter also joined in on the fun, helping to add accessories and personal touches throughout the house.

When Molly shared her project on TikTok, the reaction was “overwhelmingly positive,” she recalls. “Even those without young children chimed in, saying they’d love to have one for themselves — which absolutely made my day!”

One TikTok user commented, “This is the definition of being seen and heard and loved!”

“Please post details or start your business,” encouraged another. “Our boys deserve play houses with their own interests too!”

Molly planned to give Milo his gift on Christmas Day. As she says, “I cannot wait to see him dive into playtime with it and watch his imagination come to life!”
