If you thought The Block couples had reached breaking point during Monday night’s episode, then think again, as tensions skyrocketed higher still in the very next instalment of the reno reality TV show.

Tuesday night’s episode saw host Scott Cam come down hard yet again on contestants Tess and Luke, warning them to ‘finish the bloody house!’ before turning on his heel and storming out.

The controversial pair were complaining about rival team members Mitch and Mark’s financial situation, which appeared to tick the typically affable Scotty right off.

When Scott dropped by the Cairns couple’s house to lay down the budget law yet again - something he’s done many times over the gruelling 13-week build - he was surprised to find the tables were turned on him.

Tess and Luke weren’t having a bar of Scotty’s lecture and instead had a bone to pick over the ‘special treatment’ afforded to Bondi granddads Mitch and Mark who recently discovered they had blown their budget and were $10,000 in debt.

After copping some unexpectedly large bills, the professional property flippers had their tradies pulled off-site - but not before they’d put in some serious work on their property.

When Tess and Luke were close to going over budget earlier in the season, however, their tradespeople were yanked immediately.

“How’s that fair on everyone else?” a frustrated Luke - who once fled the show - confronted Scott.

“[Mitch and Mark] have been able to do all these amazing things like put speakers in the ceilings whereas we’ve reeled it in big time. If we weren’t keeping track of our invoices, we could’ve won other rooms too,” Tess argued.

But Scotty wasn’t having any of it, putting Tess and Luke’s harsh treatment down to tough love.

“They weren’t going into the red four weeks ago when you guys were. And you’re now in a better position than them. At the end of the day, we did you a favour,” he fumed.

He lost his cool when Luke continued to complain that he and Tess were struggling to complete their reno.

“Mate, you’re a carpenter, come on. Don’t put that on me. Finish the bloody house! Don’t talk to me about carpentry when you’re a carpenter. Please!” he said, storming out of the house.

Ever the joker, Luke returned the serve, saying, “I’m only one... I need another three, Scotty. Can I go into the red?”

Luke snaps: ‘It’s full of sh*t’

It’s not the first time Tess and Luke have been outspoken about their feelings towards The Block.

Earlier in the season, the couple blasted the show, labelling the experience ‘pretty horrible’ and ‘full of sh*t’.

The damning criticism came just hours after yet another tense on-site confrontation between the newlyweds and host Scott, who found fault with the pair’s lavish spending when compared to other teams.

“We didn’t watch last night,” Luke told news.com.au of the drama-filled episode, labelling the series’ structure ‘full of sh*t’ and alleging that he and Tess were ‘bloody sick of it’.

“We’re getting sick of how they’re editing us as being these big lazy pricks who don’t get off their a**e and do a single thing,” he said.

In response to the criticism, a Nine spokesperson told Yahoo Lifestyle the network will “support [the couple] as the program is broadcast and beyond” and added that “a psychologist and support team [are] available at all times”

Just last week Nine reportedly established a 24-hour psychological helpline for ex-MAFS contestants.

The Block airs 7.30pm Monday to Wednesdays and 7pm Sundays on Nine.
