'Bling Empire' Star Lynn Ban Has Died After Suffering a Ski Accident
Bling Empire: New York star Lynn Ban has died.
Her passing comes less than one month after she underwent emergency brain surgery due to injuries she sustained in a ski accident. She was 52 years old.
Sebastian Ban, the son of the beloved jewelry designer and TV personality, announced the news via Instagram today. “My mum passed away on Monday. I know she wanted to share her journey after her accident and brain surgery, so I thought she would appreciate one last post sharing the news to people who supported her,” he began.
In his emotional post, he shared photos of him and his mom together throughout his life.
“Many of you followed my mum but never got the chance to know her or meet her in person. I would like to take the chance to share who my mum really was,” he wrote. “She was and always will be my best friend, the best mother to me, and someone who cared for all. She always had a smile on her face even when times were tough during her recovery process. She was a fighter until the end and is the strongest woman I know. She was the funniest and coolest mum I could ever ask for. She took care of me, my dad, and our Entire family throughout her whole life.”
Lynn revealed on Instagram on December 30 that she had a skiing accident on Christmas Eve while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado, with her family. “At the top of the mountain I caught a tip and face planted. Luckily I always wear a helmet. It didn’t seem that bad at the time and I was able to ski to the bottom,” she recalled. But, after developing a headache soon after, she went to a local hospital, where she was diagnosed with a brain bleed and airlifted to a trauma center. Lynn wrote at the time that she had a “long road of recovery ahead” but was “grateful and blessed to see the new year.”
This Monday afternoon, Ban’s husband, Jett Kain, found her unresponsive in their Tribeca home, an NYPD spokesperson told The Post.
Her son, Sebastian, wrote on Instagram: “Although she may be gone now, I will do everything I can to make sure she is never forgotten and for her life to be celebrated as it deserves to be. As a final message to my mum, I would just like to say that I will miss you forever and to end in something she always told me ‘I love you more than life itself’ mum.”
Friends and fans of Lynn’s from the worlds of fashion and entertainment have taken to the comments section to voice their heartbreak.
