Bizarre 'shrinking' Kmart slides leaves shopper stumped

A Kmart fan has taken to Facebook to address a very strange issue she had discovered after purchasing a pair of Everlast slides from the retailer recently.

"So....a word of advice," the user wrote in Kmart Mums. "Don't leave your Everlast slides in a hot car cos they shrink!! They were a size 10, (see size 10 rubber thong for reference). I now have 1 size 6 and a kids size 4."

Many commenters threw around the joke that the brand should instead be called "Neverlast", while others revealed they'd had similar issues.

"Yep mine did the same and curled up at the toes!" one user revealed.

"Haha I left my Nike ones in the sun and they shrunk to baby shoes," another shared.

"Water them. They'll grow," someone joked.

"Omg this made me laugh so hard," another said. "I [didn't] even realise this could happen."

One user shared a funny story where the same thing happened to them, "This makes me laugh because I wore mine to the water park....left them there. When I put them on I thought someone has mixed mine up with theirs. Check the sizing and they where mine! I had to walk back to the car with my toes and heal hanging out... wasn’t happy at the time but it’s laughable now!"

Someone else shared their story, writing, "This happened to my daughter’s slides... we were so confused as to why one fit her and one fit her younger brother."

"Now I know why my kids 'grew' out of theirs so fast!" another mum wrote.

"And don't leave them out in the rain because they curl up!" one wise poster added.

Others said it had even happened to their thongs, while someone else joked, "Can I come and sit in your car? Please."

Some suggested the poster put the shoes in the freezer in case they grow back to their original size.
