Billie Eilish hit in the face by object thrown at her during Arizona concert
Concertgoers continue to throw objects at entertainers, and Billie Eilish is the latest singer affected.
The "Birds of a Feather" singer, 22, was performing on Friday in Arizona when she was hit in the face by an object thrown at her from the audience, videos shared on TikTok showed.
The moment came during a performance of Eilish's Oscar-winning "Barbie" song "What Was I Made For?". Video showed the Grammy winner stopped singing for a moment after being hit by what appeared to be a necklace or bracelet and made an expression of annoyance before continuing the performance and tossing the object to her left.
Some audience members could be heard booing the person who threw the object, and fans scolded the fan responsible in the comments of the TikTok clips.
"Why won't ppl STOP THROWING THINGS," one fan wrote. "9/10 things thrown get rejected so if you want em to keep it just wait till the end of the concert and workers will collect it."
Eilish told The Hollywood Reporter last year that she has been "getting hit onstage with things for like, literally, six years" because "people just get excited and it can be dangerous."
"I have mixed feelings about it, because when you’re up there it blows," she added. "But you know it’s out of love and they’re just trying to give you something."
Numerous celebrities have been hit by objects thrown at them during concerts, especially over the past-year-and-a-half.
In November, Zach Bryan stopped a concert in Washington after someone threw an object toward him and hit his guitar player. "Who threw this?" he asked. "Who was it? Does anyone know?" Bryan told fans not to throw things at musicians, adding, "If you guys do know who threw it, we can get them out of here if we ever find out who did it."
In 2023, a man was charged with assault after throwing a phone at Bebe Rexha during a concert, and Kelsea Ballerini stopped a show that same month after a bracelet was thrown at her.
"Someone threw a bracelet, it hit me in the eye, and it more so just scared me than hurt me," Ballerini said at the time. "We all have triggers and layers of fears way deeper than what is shown, and that’s why i walked offstage to calm down and make sure myself, band and crew, and the crowd all felt safe to continue."
Harry Styles fans have also thrown objects at the singer on multiple occasions, and he was hit in the eye with Skittles in one 2022 incident.
Eilish is currently on tour in support of her album "Hit Me Hard and Soft." She will next perform on Sunday in California and is set to take the tour to Australia in February.
