Big W's $99 rattan bookcase has shoppers scrambling: 'So cute!'
Shoppers are flocking to BIG W in an attempt to get their hands on one hot item in particular from the store’s brand new — and very limited edition — Spring homewares range.
The $99 Gigi rattan bookcase is proving to be a surefire cult buy if the chatter on social media is anything to go by, with keen customers taking to Facebook to gush over the stunning piece.
“How bloody cute are the rattan bookcases!” remarked one in a post by the Addicted To Bargains Facebook page.
“A mini bookcase for your little angel,” suggested another to their friend.
One fan had alternate plans for the piece, which is technically for kids:
“New plant stand??” they wrote.

Others in the comments were lamenting not being able to find it.
“I can’t deal... it’s so cute. I was just [in store] just didn’t see any,” one adoring yet disappointed shopper wrote.
“Anybody seen this in NSW? Can’t purchase it online,” asked another.
A few successful shoppers who have already snapped up the in-demand item have shared pics to Instagram showing how they’ve styled it at home.
Other popular picks were the $549 three-piece outdoor furniture set and various rattan items from the ‘Nadi’ range including a bedside table ($69), a cabinet ($99), a coffee table ($99) and an entertainment unit ($129).
If rattan is your thing, BIG W has you covered with a rattan arch mirror ($99), rattan table lamp ($29), a rattan armchair ($149) and rattan bedheads in both single and queen ($149 each).
According to a press release supplied to Yahoo Lifestyle, the new ‘Fresh Mirage’ range of homewares, outdoor furniture and bedding is available in-store and online from September 3 to 16 only.
But, as one shopper remarked, the cheap and cheerful pieces are ‘scarce as hen’s teeth!’ so you’d better be quick.
