‘Back In Action’ & ‘The Night Agent’ Continue To Top Netflix Charts; WWE Claims 2 TV Spots With ‘Raw’ & ‘Royal Rumble’
Once again, The Night Agent and Back in Action dominated on Netflix last week.
The Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz-starring film not only topped the English films list but was also the most-watched title on the platform for the third consecutive week, bringing in another 18.4M views. That is a pretty significant dip from the week prior, when it raked in over 46M views, but it’s to be expected after three weeks of streaming.
More from Deadline
So far, Back in Action has amassed just over 111M views, which positions it quite nicely to eventually make its way onto the all-time most popular list. It’ll need another 25M views to best The Mother‘s 136M views, but with more than 70 days to do so, that seems fairly likely.
Meanwhile, The Night Agent Season 2 churned out another 15.2M views in its first full week on Netflix, up from 13.9M in its debut weekend. That’s pretty solid, although it’s still quite a decrease from the first season’s performance.
It’s hard to say why Season 2 is underperforming, especially considering that its launch has boosted Season 1 back into the Top 10 as well with 5M views (which was good enough for fourth place). It’s not likely that we will see Season 2 in the overall most popular list, though anything can happen. It would need just over 60M views in the next 80 days or so to make that happen.
Also in TV, the second season of The Recruit is doing decent, coming in at No. 2 with 5.9M views.
Notably, the WWE had a significant presence in this week’s Top 10 with both last week’s Raw and Royal Rumble taking spots. The former came in at No. 9 with 2.9M views, while the latter took tenth place with 2.1M views. Royal Rumble‘s audience is particularly noteworthy, since Netflix only had the global distribution rights to the event, while it streamed domestically on Peacock. It appears that WWE is achieving its goal of harnessing a larger global audience through this Netflix deal.
The popular kids’ series Ms. Rachel also launched on Netflix during this measurement interval, debuting at No. 5 on the English TV list with 4M views, which only serves to prove that children’s entertainment continues to be a driving force on streaming.
Squid Game is also still going strong on the non-English TV list, with Season 2 holding onto second place with 5.2M views. Season 1 is also in the Top 10 at No. 5 with 2.1M views.
