Bachelorette’s Carlin Sterritt claps back after Angie Kent’s claims: ‘Nasty’
The Bachelorette star Carlin Sterritt has defended himself after his ex-girlfriend Angie Kent made explosive claims about their relationship on her podcast last week.
Angie, who hosts Two Girls One Pod with her friend and former Gogglebox co-star Yvie Jones, alleged that Carlin wanted her to “look a certain way” when they dated and refused to adopt a three-legged dog because it wasn’t “aesthetically pleasing”.
Over the weekend Carlin responded to Angie’s claims on his Instagram Story, labelling them as “nasty” and “untrue”.
“So unfortunately, I am here having to make this video because it's been a long time, I think, of being talked about on public forums by my ex Angie, and things are being said that I don't think are particularly nice at all and a lot of it is very, very untrue,” he began.
“I've been silent for so long and I haven't gone public with anything about our personal life and our relationship in the past. I didn't feel the need to and I didn't feel like it was anyone's business.”

The 32-year-old went on to say that Angie’s claims about him wanting to change her appearance were “absolutely ridiculous”.
“I’ve always preferred less makeup, like, wearing a hoodie around home, that kind of thing,” he continued.
“So I have no idea where it's come from that I had these high expectations for her to be some kind of Barbie doll. I’ve moved on, I’m super happy in my new relationship.”
Carlin ended the video by describing their relationship as “two imperfect people” who failed to make it work, and he’s okay with that.
“I'm not holding any bitterness towards Angie. I've felt the feels and I've moved on,” he said.
“It's just really, really frustrating and really disappointing that I'm still being talked about in that light when I’m trying to move on with my life… I’ve been silent for far too long and I'm still hearing nasty things being spoken about me and it’s just not cool.”
Carlin’s posts come after Angie openly discussed their relationship on her podcast, Two Girls One Pod, and said that she no longer wants to change how she looks to impress men as she has in the past.
“I'm going to attract people that I don't really like, because I don't like being 48 kilos and drinking too much and having to look like a doll all the time,” she said.
“I'm going to end up with Carlin, and look how swimmingly that turned out. I don't want to attract that s**t. I want to look like this and attract a really nice human.
“And no offence to him,” she added. “I’m sure, you know, he’s a great partner to a Barbie doll, but not for this guy.”
After meeting on The Bachelorette in 2019, Angie and Carlin dated for a few months before announcing their split in July 2020.
