The Bachelor's behind-the-scenes secrets exposed

While The Bachelor may appear to be a very glamorous show, contestants and producers have suggested otherwise.

According to Daily Mail Australia, some of the contestants on the show were left "traumatised" from the experience with one woman, who has remained anonymous, saying many of the contestants are wondering why they even signed up.

The source claims that Jimmy was constantly being "reminded to relax" around the women by producers and that the women were only allowed allowed one drink an hour but were constantly requesting more from a bartender.

"Producers were so strict when it came to the amount of alcohol the girls could have this year after an incident last year," the source claimed. However, producers have denied this to be the case.

When it came to screen time, the contestants "knew that if they wanted screen time they needed to cause drama or be extra", as many were reportedly hoping to get as many followers as possible from their time on the show.

It's also reported many of the women were allegedly scouted on social media or found at restaurants, nightclubs and bars – Sydney's Coogee Pavilion is reportedly a hotspot for scouts.

This year's contestants are also rumoured to have found a loophole in their contracts and would reportedly pretend to cry in the bathroom if they didn't want to be filmed. The sources claimed some would even hide in cupboards.

One insider claimed some of the women found a spot by the pool where they could hear producers chatting with Jimmy without being seen.

It comes following reports of a 'mass exodus' of contestants in the coming weeks.

One contestant who has remained anonymous spoke to TV Week about her exit.

"I genuinely came on the show for love and I wanted to give Jimmy a chance because sometimes I can be really quick to write people off," she said.

"When things didn't progress between us, I didn't want to waste my time anymore. I just wanted to get on with life."

"I was at the stage where I'd begun to form stronger connections with some of the other women," she added.

Daily Mail Australia reports that this contestant is Tatum Hargraves.
