‘Baby Reindeer’ Follows Big Emmy Win By Nabbing Golden Globe For Best Limited Series
The trophy haul wasn’t over yet for Baby Reindeer: the Netflix phenom has now seized the Golden Globe for Best Limited Series.
The critically acclaimed dark comedy that broke Netflix’s Global Top 10 streaming records upon its debut in April 2024 already won six Emmy Awards in the fall, including one for Outstanding Limited Series or Anthology.

Baby Reindeer has stiff competition going into Sunday’s Globes; it was up against Disclaimer (Apple TV+), Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story (Netflix), The Penguin (HBO | Max), Ripley (Netflix) and True Detective: Night Country (HBO | Max).
“The way you have embraced this show is unbelievable,” creator and star Richard Gadd said in his acceptance speech. “That means the absolute world to us … A lot of people sometimes ask me, why Baby Reindeer? Why do a show this dark? I think in a lot of ways, people were kind of crying out for something that spoke to the painful inconsistencies of being human.”
Earlier in the night, Jessica Gunning won a Globe for playing the stalker Martha.
Based on Gadd’s hit Edinburgh Fringe one-man play, which was itself based on his personal experiences, Baby Reindeer emerged as a bona fide cultural phenomenon upon its debut, spending eight weeks in Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV (English) list and reaching the Top 10 TV in 92 countries. The show follows struggling comedian Donny Dunn’s (Gadd) warped relationship with his female stalker, Martha (Gunning), and the impact it has on him as he is ultimately forced to face a deeply buried trauma.
