Aussie influencer divides with 'risky' X-rated confession: 'Mortified'

Aussie influencer Laura Henshaw made a 'mortifying' X-rated confession on her podcast KICPod, which she hosts with Steph Claire Smith.

During an episode released this week, Steph asked Laura about her hygiene practices when it comes to her sex toys.

"Can I ask you something?" Steph began asking, with Laura quickly replying, "Yes, I do wash them!"

She then admitted, "I'm being honest with you, I'm actually mortified that I'm saying this out loud but I am here for you guys. I don't wash it every time."

Laura then shared a clip of the moment on Instagram, writing, "Guys why do you make me feel so comfortable that I can admit these hygiene fails in a public forum like this and am dying but also love that I can tell you this with no judgment???

"ALSO AM I ALONE HERE?!"

Her followers shared their thoughts on the matter, with most having clear opinions.

"In = wash every time (on = wash when dirty) I will make my partner pause during to wash anything he gets out of the drawer, I don’t have good toy storage & I cannot knowingly put dust & cat hair in there but if it ain’t dusty & hairy I can see why folks don’t!" one user wrote.

"No judgement from me sis," another said. "You know I love you. But I wash every time."

"It all depends if it’s an in or on toy," a third added.

"Does using a baby wipe count?" a fourth questioned.

"Laura! Wash every time gf!" someone else added, with a laughing emoji.

"Babe!!! You have to, can have bacteria or worst infection!" one user wrote. "Been there hahaha."

Sex toy brand Normal also weighed in, writing, "You’re 100% not alone @laura.henshaw - but awesome topic to be educating on because it can increase risk of infections if not washed every time."

They added, "Recommended practice: every time! Keeps you and them in great condition."
