Aubrey Plaza has shocked fans with a dramatic red carpet look, with many saying she was 'unrecognisable'.
The White Lotus star looked incredible at the Academy's 13th Governors Awards, swapping her trademark brunette locks for a striking blonde hairdo.
She opted for an old Hollywood glamour feel, stepping out in a sultry black Mônot backless dress. The sparkly dress hugged her figure, with a plunging halter neckline and long slit up towards the star’s thigh.
Styled by Jessica Paster, she finished off her look with diamond teardrop earrings, a simple black clutch and strappy black heels.
The Parks and Recreation star wore her hair swept back in an elegant bun paired with dramatic eye makeup and a classic red lip.
Aubrey shared photos from the event on Instagram, saying she was there to publicise her independent film Emily the Criminal.
“Last night at The Academy Governors Awards…so honoured to attend and to represent my little indie that could!” she wrote in the caption.
Her celebrity pals went wild over the snaps, with actress Jessica Pimentel saying it was ‘jaw-dropping’.
Fellow The White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge added: “Extra Extra hot!! Wowie!! Blondie!!!! Congrats on your film, Aubrey!! XOX”.
“I have been opening and re-opening Instagram for the last hour just to stare at this photo,” quipped Five Feet Apart star Haley Lu Richardson.
“Hawwwttt diiiiaaaammmnnn. They must have been speechless,” actress Megalyn E.K added.
A number of Aubrey’s fans said they had to do a ‘double take’ when seeing the photo and many compared her to Lady Gaga. Others were enamoured by her major transformation and praised her decision to go blonde.
"Holy smokes," a fan wrote, with a second adding: “I’d like to send my entire life savings to whoever’s idea the blonde was".
“How am I supposed to find anyone else attractive after this?” asked another.
“Damn girl. Not everyone can pull off multiple hair colours. When I went blonde I looked like a very tacky, unpopular telenovela show host,” quipped a fourth.
“God damn! So lovely and pulling off the blonde too,” another remarked.
However, there were a few people who criticised the star’s decision.
“That hairdresser deserves to be fired,” one person wrote.
“Nooo why are you blonde now?” a second asked.
“I’m going to be honest with you. You look way hotter with dark hair,” another pointed out.
