Designed by Giorgio Armani and his team of architects, the 3,767-square-foot space marks the 24th ocation for the company globally among its different food and beverage formats.
Accommodating up to 150 people, the Armani/Caffè features two indoor dining rooms and a spacious outdoor terrace. It has a main entrance on the third floor of the large department store, but can additionally be accessed by an internal lift directly from the Giorgio Armani boutique located on the floors below.
In sync with the company’s aesthetic, the interior concept blends sophisticated, essential lines with a retro flair. A light blue and gold wallpaper with a palm motif dominates the space, while the large-slab terrazzo flooring with champagne metal edging and the vast bronzed mirror and gilded metal walls evoke ‘30s and ’40s influences. Armani/Casa collection pieces such as lamps and furnishings further punctuate the space.
At the entrance is a linear desk and bar counter, and guests can access two dining areas, one more intimate and the other more spacious, which can be reached by crossing a corridor with an open wine cellar. Slightly screened natural light floods the space through windows that look out onto the outdoor terrace, where guests can enjoy the menu reinterpreting Italian cuisine delicacies with international influences al fresco.
The Giorgio Armani world of food and beverage made its debut in 1998 with the launch of the Paris restaurant, followed in 2000 by the landmark Nobu Milano location. Since then, the format expanded worldwide from Tokyo to Dubai, from Cannes to New York, with each restaurant enlisting key chefs such as Francesco Mascheroni in Milan, Massimo Tringali in Paris, Giovanni Papi in Dubai and Bruno Hiruma in Tokyo, to name a few.
