AriZona Iced Tea Trolls Netflix Amid Pricing Controversy
AriZona Iced Tea is using the controversy over Netflix's latest pricing increase to its advantage.
After the popular streaming platform announced that it would once again raise subscription service prices, AriZona chimed in on the conversation to let fans know that unlike Netflix, cans of their iced tea will stay the same price.
The beverage brand responded to a tweet on Wednesday, Jan. 22, from the account Discussing Film on X (formerly Twitter) shared the news of Netflix hiking up their prices.
Netflix's standard plan with ads will be going up to $7.99 per month, while a no-ads standard plan will now be $17.99/month and premium plans will be $24.99/month, according to the platform's plans and pricing page.
In the sassy tweet posted on Wednesday, AriZona replied to the Netflix pricing news while making the quip, "AriZona Iced Tea is still 99 cents."

"That's because you are the best," one user on X wrote in response to the beloved iced tea brand, while someone else called the brand "incredible" for trolling Netflix.
"One can of Arizona iced tea is worth more than most Netflix shows," another user quipped.
"You guys are the real mvp," someone else added.
Last year, the founder of AriZona Iced Tea, Don Vultaggio, explained why he never plans to change the 99 cent price tag on their brand of tea.

"We’re successful. We’re debt-free. We own everything. Why?" Vultaggio said during an appearance on the Today show in June 2024. "Why have people who are having a hard time paying their rent have to pay more for their drink? Maybe it’s my way to give back.”
