Ariana Grande Secretly Debuted a Product for Her Makeup Brand at the 2024 Olympics Because She’s a Boss
Grande wore r.e.m. beauty’s new gel pencil eyeliner at the opening ceremony. Here's how you can get the look.
Ariana Grande has some wickedly good ideas up her sleeve when it comes to her beauty brand.
When she arrived at the 2024 Olympics opening ceremony in Paris on July 26, arm in arm with her Wicked costar Cynthia Erivo, the singer 31, pulled a pretty boss business move, teasing a totally new r.e.m. beauty launch through her glam — and we’ve got all the details.
Makeup artist Michael Anthony sneakily incorporated the brand’s new $17 gel kohl eyeliner pencil into Grande’s signature winged eyeliner.
He used the rich brown shade Teddy Bear to complement the rest of her muted mauve eyeshadow, which was achieved with r.e.m. beauty’s Midnight Shadows palette in Babydoll.

We know now that the main event of Grande’s makeup was the eyeliner, but we also couldn’t stop thinking about her perfectly blushed cheeks (courtesy of the Hypernova satin matin blush in Pinking of You), the glow on her cheekbones (that would be the Interstellar Highlighter Topper in Miss Mercury) and her lip combo (the lip stain marker in Booked n Busy and the plumping lip gloss in Pink Razor to be exact).
Grande paired her Glinda-coded glam (the only appropriate way to honor her Wicked character, whom fans will see once the movie comes out on Nov. 22) with a custom baby pink midi-length duchess silk satin dress by Thom Browne. The bespoke design featured a drop waist and bow that matched the one in her elegant updo.
Erivo, who plays Elphaba in the movie musical, wore an emerald-green strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline. She accessorized with a wide-brimmed hat and Roberto Coin jewels.

This won’t be the last time fans will get to see Grande in r.e.m. beauty.
Last April, the pop star revealed that she — or rather Glinda — will be wearing some of its products on screen. But she didn’t spoil too much. "I will tell you later,” she teased.
