Antonio Banderas Teases Bosch's Wrestling-Inspired Super Bowl Ad: They Broke a Table 'Five Times' (Exclusive)
"I thought, 'Oh my God, this guy is unbelievable,' " Antonio Banderas says of working with his muscly Big Game spot costar
Antonio Banderas was excited to watch his costar in Bosch's new Super Bowl commercial pull off some impressive wrestling moves on set.
Banderas, 64, costars in the company's upcoming ad with an actor who portrays the late WWE star Randy Savage, who died in 2011 at 58. Bosch's 15-second teaser for the full commercial features the Babygirl actor, clad in a classic tuxedo, offering to open a jar of pickles for the muscly wrestler as he struggles with the lid.
"There was no time for that," Banderas tells PEOPLE, when asked if he learned any wrestling stunts while on set. "I saw him doing some interesting things too — I don't know if I should just tell you, but he jumped on top of a table and he broke it and he did it five times. And I thought, 'Oh my God, this guy is unbelievable.' "
"It was fun to work with him because it was required actually for these commercials to have a sense of humor, and he does, and the director did too, and the creative people," Banderas says of the shoot.
Bosch's ad is set to run during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 9.
"The whole entire commercial is a comedy. It's a little comedy, and it's gonna go to the Super Bowl, and I suppose it's gonna make people laugh," he teases.

The upcoming commercial marks Bosch's debut among Big Game commercials. The German-based company is aiming to expand its presence in North America, with Banderas' comedic spot leading the charge.
"I've shot a lot of commercials, but this is very special," Banderas tells PEOPLE.

Banderas himself is coming off a year In which he starred in movies like Cult Killer, The Clean Up Crew and Babygirl. He returns to the screen in North America when Paddington in Peru releases in theaters on Feb. 14. Banderas and Olivia Colman join the franchise in the latest film as Paddington (Ben Whishaw) and his family take a trip to South America to help find his missing aunt.
"I learned a lot because those messages stayed with you forever," Banderas says of why he enjoys starring in children's movies. "I still remember when I watched Peter Pan when I was a little kid, or I watched Pinocchio or I watched Jungle Book. All of those movies stayed here, and I remember the feeling, and I remember what they gave me."
Bosch's Big Game ad will air during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9. The game itself will broadcast on Fox and stream on Tubi.
