Yahoo Lifestyle Anna Kendrick Puts a Sleek Spin on Pinstripes in Tailored LaQuan Smith Look at the SXSW Premiere of ‘Another Simple Favor’
Anna Kendrick embraced subtle flair at the SXSW premiere for her new film with Blake Lively, “Another Simple Favor.” The actress arrived at the red carpet in a look that combined both the corset trend and the metallic trend.
Kendrick suited up in a plunging houndstooth corset and metallic pinstriped trousers from LaQuan Smith. The ensemble, which had a sleek sheen, hails from the designer’s fall 2025 collection, which was a tribute to “the level of opulence and power dressing from the late, like, 1970s and ‘80s.” “It’s all about sharp tailoring and really rich textures and just a sense of rebellion and glamour,” Smith told WWD while presenting the collection.

Kendrick completed her look with layered gold and diamond serpent lariat necklaces by Bulgari and layered matching bracelets, as well as diamond-encrusted hoop earrings. Beauty-wise, Kendrick played off the metallic thread in her pants with a shimmering silver smokey eye.
Corsets have been trending on the red carpet over the past couple of years especially, in the wake of as a breaking out on the fall 2023 Paris couture runways with designers such as Daniel Roseberry of Schiaparelli, Thom Browne, Elie Saab and Mohammed Ashi putting their stamp on the corset while paying homage to Jean Paul Gaultier.
Kendrick’s costar Blake Lively was also in attendance at the SXSW premiere of “Another Simple Favor.” For the occasion, Lively wore two latex looks by Reneé Masoomian that consisted of a blush sheer coat dress she arrived in and later removed to reveal a corset and a maxi skirt with lace trim at the hem.
“Another Simple Favor” is the followup to Lively and Kendrick’s 2018 thriller “A Simple Favor,” and centers around Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively)’s reunion in Capri for Emily’s wedding. “Another Simple Favor” will be available to stream on Prime Video on May 1.
