Rebecca Gayheart moves to dismiss divorce from Eric Dane 7 years after she originally filed

The Jawbreaker actress, 53, filed a request to dismiss her prior divorce filing from the Grey’s Anatomy actor, 52, on Thursday, according to a document obtained by Entertainment Weekly. Gayheart requested that the divorce be dismissed without prejudice, which leaves the door open to re-file in the future.
Representatives for Gayheart and Dane did not immediately respond to EW's requests for comment.
The two actors first met in 2003 and were married a year later in Las Vegas. They share two daughters together.

Gayheart filed for divorce in 2018, citing irreconcilable differences. "After 14 years together we have decided that ending our marriage is the best decision for our family," Dane told PEOPLE in a statement at the time. "We will continue our friendship and work as a team to co-parent our two beautiful girls as they are the most important thing in the world to us. We kindly ask that you respect our privacy during this time as we navigate the next phase of our lives."

Eric Dane and Rebecca Gayheart in 2015However, the court warned the couple in 2019 that Judge Thomas Lewis may dismiss the case "for delay in prosecution" due to a lack of the necessary documentation.

The couple has continued to co-parent together, spending a European vacation with their daughters in 2022 and hanging out in Mexico the following year.
Gayheart first rose to fame as the spokesperson for Noxzema in the early 1990s. She later appeared in prominent roles in Beverly Hills, 90210, Urban Legend, and Jawbreaker.
Dane is best known for his work on Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, and recently played a supporting role in Bad Boys: Ride or Die. He'll next appear in Borderline opposite Samara Weaving.
Gayheart has not appeared on screen since 2019's Once Upon a Time,,, in Hollywood, but is set to return to the big screen in the comedy Nickels alongside Rob Riggle this year.
