Anna Kendrick, Paul Feig, and Blake Lively at the 'Another Simple Favor' premiere at SXSWAnna Kendrick is sending mixed messages about her reunion with Blake Lively.
Outside the SXSW premiere of Another Simple Favor, Kendrick was asked, "What does it mean to be working with Blake again?" per a video posted by Entertainment Tonight.
The Pitch Perfect star's response to the question was a rather dismissive nonanswer: "Oh, you know."
It's worth noting that Kendrick seemed to be in a rush at that moment, moving down the barricade to talk to fans and repeatedly expressing her frustration with their phone cameras being oriented incorrectly.
"It's facing the wrong way, oh no!" she said to one fan while holding their phone.
"Come on! Get it in selfie mode! Be prepared!" she said to another.
Meanwhile, Lively was asked a nearly identical question about reuniting with Kendrick for the sequel to the twisty 2018 dramedy A Simple Favor. "Oh, it's the best. I'm so happy to be here," Lively replied, though her response sounded rather perfunctory.

Kendrick reflected on reteaming with Lively in an interview with PEOPLE last month. "She lives on the East Coast, I live on the West Coast, so we don't get to see each other often," the Into the Woods star said. "But it was lovely, and I think that those characters have such weird chemistry that it's so fun to just get the gang back together. And it does feel a little bit like riding a bike."

Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively in 'Another Simple Favor'After the screening of the film, Lively reiterated her appreciation for Kendrick and the Simple Favor cast and crew. "It was fun. It's always fun," she said. "Getting to work with Anna again, obviously, and this incredible group of people is amazing."

In a separate interview, Kendrick evaded a question that seemed to refer to Lively's current legal battle with actor-director Justin Baldoni. "How does it feel like the movie's being impacted by everything happening around, going on in the world?" a reporter for Variety asked the actress on the red carpet.
To which Kendrick responded, "Why, what happened? I did ayahuasca and the last year of my life is just gone."
"But I've heard the movie is a-mazing," she added before blowing a kiss and walking away.
Another Simple Favor follows Kendrick's character Stephanie, who now works as a private investigator, as she travels to Capri in Italy to attend the wedding of Lively's Emily, a socialite who was sentenced to 20 years in prison at the end of the first film.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, director Paul Feig explained why he agreed to make the follow-up. "I resisted doing sequels to any of my movies," he said. "But I love these characters so much that I thought, 'Well, there's more fun to be had with them.' But that meant taking them out of their comfort zone."
Another Simple Favor hits Prime Video on May 1.
