The actress, who regularly steps out in her favourite neutral-toned trench coats, knows what suits her: she has a simple style formula and she sticks to it. On Monday, she stepped out in New York City during the city's film festival wearing a silky maxi dress, which she styled two different ways for two different occasions.
She styled the blush-hued, ankle-length dress with her staple nude leather pumps. For her first outing of the day, Jolie wore the maxi with a textured grey blazer, plus oversized caramel-tinted aviator sunglasses and a small black leather pouch. When it came to jewellery, she wore several gold hoop earrings on one ear and a long gold earring on another, as well as some chunky rings.
For her second outing, Jolie wore the silky dress with the same heels — only this time, she paired it with a black textured trench coat that tied around the waist.
Jolie had been seen wearing the same belted coat a day prior, then styling it with a silky half-black, half-white maxi dress, a slouchy black leather Saint Laurent bag, and her favourite pumps and aviator sunglasses. She added some edge to the elegant look with a large pair of gold teardrop earrings.
As Jolie knows, the slip dress is one of few fashion pieces that has managed to achieve true staple status. File it alongside the black blazer, the trench coat, and that elusive perfect pair of jeans: a satiny slip dress is forever.
