Andy Reid's Super Bowl Ad Features Subtle Nod to Taylor Swift

Andy Reid isn't just getting ready to coach the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX, he also stars in a new game-day commercial for Skechers.

And if that wasn't exciting enough, the Chiefs head coach even included a subtle nod to Taylor Swift, pop star and girlfriend to the team's star tight end, Travis Kelce.

The new Skechers ad, promoting Skechers Hand Free Slip-Ins, features Coach Reid hyping up the hands-free shoes as he saves his hands for something more important, perhaps another Super Bowl ring that he could add to his collection after Sunday's game.

In addition to Reid's animated performance in the ad, some Swifties had their eyes on another detail in the commercial.

As eagle-eyed fans noticed, behind Reid in one of the scenes was a desk calendar turned to July 8, the same date Swift performed the Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City in 2023—when Kelce was also in attendance.

Less than two months later, Swift and Kelce became intertwined in a full-on "Love Story," with the "Cruel Summer" songstress later confirming their romance by showing up to a Chiefs game that September.

Now, over a year and a half later, Kelce is chasing a three-peat victory with the Chiefs, and Swift, for the second year in a row, is expected to be in the crowd to cheer him on.

As for Reid, the 66-year-old coach is already thinking about his next ring. In his new  Skechers ad, Reid joked about having a "side hustle" as a male hand model, prompting him to avoid doing usual tasks in the hopes of keeping his hands pristine for some more potential victory bling.

"I’m a no-nonsense football guy who needs everything around me to be easy so I can just focus on the game—especially when it’s for the championship," Reid said about the ad in a press release shared with Parade. "These Skechers Hands Free Slip-ins have made my routine quicker and easier. No one wants to go into overtime just because of their shoes, and best of all they give me time to focus on my second career that you’ll see in my first commercial for Skechers!”

Super Bowl LIX kicks off at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, La., on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. ET.
