While appearing as a guest host on the Wednesday, Jan. 22 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the Watch What Happens Live! host, 56, shared the latest shenanigans from his son Benjamin (Ben), 5.

"I woke up, I think it was Monday morning — it’s been a long week already. And he had found his little kid scissors which we had hidden from him," Cohen told co-host Kelly Ripa, 54. "I said, ‘Oh great, cut away, here’s some paper.’ I go in my room, he goes in his room. He says, ‘How do you like my new hairstyle?' "

"Now, I thought he put gel in his hair, this is how dumb I am," he continued. "He did a crazy haircut. All of a sudden I see a pile of hair in the corner."

Instead of having an explosive reaction, Cohen says that he maintained his cool and "did not shame him for this."

"But he has now gotten a buzz cut ... And everyone is going so crazy and he’s getting so much attention that now I’m worried he’s going to do it again," he said.

Ripa, who shares three adult children with husband Mark Consuelos, admitted that her children also loved to cut each other's hair. They even had to remove all the scissors from the house to stop them from cutting things.

"I took away anything that could be used to cut anything," she admitted. "For years, I was wrapping presents, [and] I would wrap a small box and I would just fold the wrapping paper over and over again because there were no scissors in our house. And they’ll cut anything — they’ll cut your clothes. They love scissors."

The Bravo host is also a father to daughter Lucy, 2. Cohen is a proud dad, who even wrote a parenting book, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up, in 2023.

"Family means everything to me and having one of my own is something that I have wanted in my heart for my entire life," Cohen said in 2018, shortly before Ben's birth. "Though it's taken me longer than most to get there, I cannot wait for what I envision will be the most rewarding chapter yet."

Cohen, who was 50 when Ben was born, also said that he'd "never thought it would be possible" for him to have a family.

"When I was growing up and when we were growing up … I just never thought it would be possible as a gay man to grow up and have a family," he said to co-host and friend Anderson Cooper on CNN's New Year's Eve live broadcast in 2018. "I'm so grateful to a wonderful surrogate that I'm working with."
