Ana Huang’s 'Twisted' could be Netflix's next steamy book adaptation after 'Bridgerton'
The clock is ticking until fans of Ana Huang’s steamy "Twisted" series can see their favorite complicated love interests in the flesh.
Netflix acquired the TV rights for “Twisted,” Huang’s dark romance novels that reign over the spicy section of BookTok in a seven-figure deal, according to the author’s publicist. USA TODAY reached out to Netflix for comment.
While no details on casting or production have been shared, it’s safe to say the show has a built-in audience with over 12 million copies sold and translation rights in 34 countries.
There are four books in the “Twisted” series:
Twisted Love (2021), Alex and Ava’s brother's-best-friend romance
Twisted Games (2021), Rhys and Bridget’s royal romance
Twisted Hate (2022), Josh and Jules’ enemies-to-lovers romance
Twisted Lies (2022), Christian and Stella’s fake-dating billionaire romance
While Huang is best known for her “Twisted” series, she’s a bestselling author of 13 books. Her latest, a steamy sports romance titled “The Striker,” was published in October and follows a top soccer player and former prima ballerina.
Her next book, “King of Envy,” is set for an April 29 release. The fifth book in her “Kings of Sin” series, it’s a romance about a morally gray billionaire hero that can be read as a standalone. She’s also set to publish “The Defender,” book two in the “Gods of the Game” series, in October.
