'America's Got Talent' Reveals the Winner for 2024
The voting is over, and the results have been revealed for America’s Got Talent 2024 (Season 19) and the winner won not just the $1 million prize and the title, but also a brand-new Kia EV9.
The 10 finalists included the best performers of the season as voted on by America: Airfootworks, Brent Street, Dee Dee Simon, Hakuna Matata Acrobats, Learnmore Jonasi, Roni Sagi & Rhythm, Richard Goodall, Sebastián & Sonia, Sky Elements and Solange Kardinaly.
And the winner was Heidi Klum’s Golden Buzzer Richard Goodall, who for his final performance picked a second Journey song, “Faithfully.” On night one of Season 19, Richard performed Journey’s "Don't Stop Believin,'" so it was a full circle moment for the 55-year-old middle school janitor from Terre Haute, Ind.
“There’s no plan other than getting a house together,” Richard told Parade on the AGT red carpet after his win. “We want either Florida or Terre Haute. I’m going to take a breath and see what else comes our way. No real plan. Just take it all in and go from there.”
Last Wednesday, after performing for the final time in the competition, Richard and his fiancée Angie Vanoven got married in California with his AGT family in attendance.
“I wanted getting married to be a part of this whole journey,” he said. “I wanted it to be a part of encompassing everything. It was beyond time to go and do this so AGT helped make it happen.”
Earlier in the season, Richard had been gifted a new car by country singer Walker Hayes, so winning a second one means there’s one for him since he had already gifted Angie the new Buick Encore.
“I told Angie, ‘Kia is giving away a brand-new car,’” Richard said. “She said, ‘We’ve already got a brand-new car.’ I said, ‘Maybe I’d like to drive a brand-new car,’ because the new one was for her. I said, ‘It’s an electric car.’ She said, ‘Oh, you can have that.’”
When asked if he was headed back home to quit his janitor job, Richard wasn’t sure he was going to do that immediately.
“I want the students to be a part of this whole process, but we’ll see what opportunities come our way and go from there,” he said, taking into consideration the fact that the students had encouraged him to audition in the first place. “I never dreamed this could happen.”

Other performers for the night included Steve Aoki, Michael Bublé, Andra Day, AGT alums the Detroit Youth Choir, Neil Schon and Journey, Magic Mike Live and a guest appearance by Gabriel Iglesias.
