Amazon Prime Day 2021: Best deals to shop from Aussie businesses

Amazon Australia Prime Day may kick off on June 21st, but the retail giant has given shoppers a little taste of what’s on offer.

This year, small Australian businesses are at the forefront of the sale day, with the ‘Shop Local’ store.

The ‘Shop Local’ store features curated collections from Aussie businesses, including Meluka Australia which makes 100% natural honey powered by native Australian botanicals and Song Saga, a party game designed to gamify storytelling and leverage the power of music to help build human connections.

“Last Prime Day marked the two biggest days for small Australian businesses on Amazon.com.au and we are proud to put them front and centre through our ‘Shop Local’ store during one of our busiest shopping events,” Arno Lenior, Director of Prime for Amazon Australia, said.

Other Australian brands such as portable soft light BIGSOFTI, non -alcoholic beer company UpFlow Brewing, silicone breast pump cushions Milkdrop, compostable band aids Patch, plant-based hand wash refill solution Baresop and more will all be on sale.

Prime Day Australia

The dates for Prime Day 2021 have been were announced as June 21 and 22 and will likely see everything from day to day essentials like multipacks of paper towels and Coca Cola cans, to cool tech like robot vacuums and smart speakers, get reduced.

Prime Day is Amazon Australia’s annual sales event where hundreds of thousands of products are marked down for Prime members.

Big ticket and everyday items are discounted as part of the sales, but you have to be a Prime member to take advantage.

There is a 30-day free trial period however, so if you aren’t currently a Prime member, you can sign up within that time to get access to the sales next week.

If you really want to get ahead of the game, you can set up alerts on your wish list so that if any items become part of a lighting deal, you’ll know instantly and can jump straight on.

To do this, you’ll need to download the Amazon Shopping App, and go to ‘Settings’ then ‘Notifications’ and select notifications for ‘Your Watched and Waitlisted Deals’.
