Aldi copies mum's $50 dollhouse hack

Aldi’s wooden toy sale is back, and the most talked-about item is a classic, wooden dollhouse that’s returned with a new look.

The dollhouse is part of the June 12 Special Buys, and is being sold for just $50, while others on the market range between $150 and $300.

It’s also received a makeover from last year’s version which was multicoloured, with the new paint job looking suspiciously similar to the way one savvy Aussie mum ‘hacked’ the original.

Interior stylist Rachel Fawkes, the woman behind the house_of_o.u.r.s Instagram page, painted last year’s dollhouse and accessories white, grey and light pink in July, and the result is almost identical to the 2019 version Aldi has just released.

Incredible dollhouse hack

Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a more DIY way to build a dollhouse, there are dollhouse renovation pages on Facebook that feature the most beautiful redesigns.

Wendy Manning, a mum-of-three from NSW, recently shared her jaw-dropping reno with Yahoo Lifestyle, and you’d be forgiven for thinking the images were actually from a life-sized home.
