"We apologise in advance for any disappointment this might cause our customers, and remind everyone to shop with kindness in this challenging time."

Aldi's Air Fryer Special Buys are notorious for being very popular with customers, with stores often unable to keep up with customer demand.

Fans commented on the Facebook page, with one user tagging a friend and writing, "[In case] you were thinking of getting one, they might run out even quicker..."

Another joked with a friend, "Let me know if you want me to go fight people for the air fryer. I’ll do it."

"You best be there super early," one person said to their friend, to which their friend responded, "Don't think I've got any chance."

Someone else revealed what happened to them last time they tried to buy an Air Fryer from Aldi, "Not worth lining up for. Last time they had Air Fryer Ovens the line up was 40plus people at 8am an hour before the store opened and they only had 5 ovens."

"They never have enough anyway," one user added, with someone else saying their local store will probably only have two instead of five now.

Some fans were annoyed at the announcement with one person writing, "What’s new, same as always except blaming Covid this time."

Another user responded, "Exactly what I was thinking...at least they have something to blame now I guess. Lol."

"Covid-19 hasn't been around for 10+ years? Always limited stock," one user added.

Someone else thought it could all be an elaborate ruse to stop people from lining up, "I'm still going maybe someone has put it up as a trick to not get people to line up lol," they said.

Other users wrote that they had found Air Fryers at Kmart, Target and Kogan.

Aldi's 16L Multifunction Air Fryer is $149, while the Pastry Maker is $24.99.

On their website, Aldi has revealed they have removed the Air Fryer from their Victorian stores due to the pandemic which has caused an ongoing lockdown in the state.

They wrote, "Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we have removed this Special Buys™ product from all Victorian state stores, Albury and Lavington. We apologise for any disappointment this might cause our Victorian customers.

"We understand that not all our Victorian stores are under Stage 4 COVID-19 restrictions, but we believe it is the right thing to do to ensure the safety of our community in this challenging time. We look forward to bringing these products back at a later date."
