Aldi's $17 linen pants a hit: 'So nice!'

Aldi might be better known for it’s popular yet hard-to-get pizza ovens and hanging egg chairs, the German retailer also appears to be flexing its fashion muscle as one shopper discovered.

Anna, from Sydney, was pleasantly surprised when she snapped up a pair of beige viscose/linen blend pants for just $16.99, finding them both chic and comfy.

She was so impressed that she shared a snap of herself sporting the easy-breezy drawstring trousers with a simple black t-shirt and slides in a Facebook group, asking if any other Aldi fans had bought them.

“They don’t look amazing on the shelves but so nice on! True to size,” she wrote, adding that she was wearing a size 10.

Anna was soon met with a flood of compliments for the summer-ready item, which was part of Aldi’s Special Buys on September 23.

“Omg they look so good on you!!!” wrote one Facebook user.

“You look lovely and they fit beautifully,” said another.

One was a happy customer themselves, having purchased multiple pairs in both colours.

“Love them! Got two navy and two beige ones,” they wrote.

Anna tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she was “definitely surprised” by the huge amount of positive feedback she received.

“I just wanted to share them in case one or two ladies may be interested in them as they’re a great bargain and stylish,” she says.

“You don’t have to spend a lot of money to put a great outfit together,” she adds.
