Aldi's $7 Greek treat the 'best kept secret'
Aldi has done it again with a delicious and cheap Greek savoury pastry that apparently tastes better than the traditional homemade version.
Aussie home chef Merna shared a TikTok video that has now gone viral, claiming the $6.99 Spanakopita is the German supermarket chain’s ‘best kept secret’.
“I'm going to share a little secret with you, and it's this spanakopita from Aldi and it's made in Greece,” Merna said in the clip.
“Honestly, this is Aldi's best kept secret. I usually hoard boxes of these.
“It's beautiful, buttery and crunchy on the outside, and you've got this gorgeous spinach and ricotta mix on the inside, it's so fun to eat.
She goes on to say she thinks the Aldi version is even better than homemade.
“This is one of those rare times I think store bought is so much better than homemade. Anyway, you'll thank me, trust me,” she concludes.
And it seemed plenty of people agreed.
“They are the best. Not worth me making,” one person wrote in the comments.
“I buy these all the time, best I've had and great price.”
While another mused about the fact the ‘secret’ was now out saying “Don't tell everyone”.
“Why did you show this? Everyone is going to take them now,” another agreed.
