Yahoo Lifestyle Al Roker's Daughter Mourns Heartbreaking Family Loss
Al Roker's daughter, Courtney Roker Laga, revealed a heartbreaking family loss on social media.
On Monday, Feb. 11, Courtney, 37, took to Instagram to announce the death of her mother, Alice Bell, at 77.
Roker and Bell, the Today meteorologist's first wife, adopted Courtney shortly after she was born in 1987.
"She was my mother, my heart, and the most loving grandmother to Sky," the bereaved daughter shared with her Instagram followers. "I was with her for her last breath, and I will carry her love with me always."
Courtney shared throwback photos of her as a baby and a child with Bell in her post.
Although she didn't reveal details about her mother's cause of death, Courtney also featured two snaps of Bell holding her granddaughter, Sky, while wearing nasal cannulas for oxygen.

Courtney's followers flooded her Instagram update with messages of love while sharing their condolences.
One person wrote, "Oh no! Deepest condolences to your family. May her memory continue to be a blessing to you all. 🙏🏽."
Another Instagram user shared, "Sending you love, light and a huge hug….what a beautiful angel🤍," while someone else commented, "You were her ❤️!! She loved you so much!!!!"
Meanwhile, yet another follower declared, "May she soar on angel’s wings! My deepest condolences to you and your family. Take a break and let your heart ♥️ grieve the loss of your beautiful mother."
In addition to Courtney, Roker shares two children with his second wife, Robin Roberts: Leila, 26, and Nick, 22.
