Age-defying mum, 48, constantly mistaken for daughter's sister
An age-defying mum is constantly mistaken for looking a decade younger and as her daughter’s sister.
Veena Nayyar, 48, who lives in Slough in the UK, said her daughter Angeli, 28, is often left rolling her eyes as strangers assume they are siblings.
“People are always shocked when I reveal my age,” she said.
“They often think I am at least 10 years younger.
The 4ft 11inch mum-of-two admits it can be ‘annoying’ when she gets ID’d for booze and her daughter gets embarrassed when people ask if they are sisters.
"Angeli looks really young for her age too - we are quite lucky as we have great genetics,” she said.

"She has been asked why she isn’t at school, even at the age of 28."
Veena is often questioned and asked to prove her age when she is buying alcohol.
“I love looking younger but it is annoying when I have lots of shopping and need to rummage for my ID,” she said.
“It is funny seeing their face drop when they see my date of birth.”
She says there is no ‘secret’ to her youthful looks and praises her ‘good genetics’. She does admit she has had Botox once on her forehead in 2018.
Veena also praises daily moisturising for keeping her skin looking youthful.
“I suffer from eczema so it is very important to keep on top of it by moisturising four times per day,” she said
“I always wear factor 50 SPF on my face too.
“I think a common mistake for older women is they stick to one foundation because it worked in their 20s and 30s.But as you get older, we lose elasticity and require different products.”
Veena said her skin got especially dry when she went through the menopause at 46 and opted to go on hormone replacement therapy when she was 47.
"Although I don't look old, the menopause certainly made me feel old,” she said.
“I always use good products and make sure it is a good expensive shampoo to keep my hair shiny.”
It isn’t just a beauty regime that keeps Veena’s skin glowing but feeling good too.
“I make sure I am happy to avoid eczema flare-ups and breakouts,” she said.
“I won’t lie and say I follow a super strict diet and drink a lot of water because I don’t but with age, I have become more mindful of what I am putting in my body. However, I am partial to cake and crisps.
“Overall, I am a positive person who looks after herself and I think that is why I look younger.”
