Adwoa Aboah Is a Mom! Model Welcomes Baby Girl and Reveals Her “Matrix”-Inspired Name

The British model welcomed her first child, Shy Trinity Afua Wheatley, on Aug. 23 with her boyfriend Daniel Wheatley

Adwoa Aboah is officially a mom!

The British model, 32, and her boyfriend, U.S. skater Daniel Wheatley, announced the happy news on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

"Our stunner of a daughter was born at 11:22pm on the 23rd of August by emergency cesarean," Aboah wrote in an Instagram post. “Our hearts have literally exploded into a million pieces.”

She concluded the post by revealing her daughter’s name: “Shy Trinity Afua Wheatley.”

In her Instagram Stories, the Gurls Talk founder elaborated on the meaning of her daughter’s name. She shared a screenshot that read, “Afua,” means "born on Friday." The screenshot also noted that naming her daughter after the day she was born is an Akan tradition. “Linked to fertility by its variant Efua, Afua celebrates the value of life, the gift of birth, and existence itself,” read the photo.

She then posted a clip of Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity from The Matrix and the text: “And yes, that Trinity…”

In the Instagram post, Aboah first shared an adorable photo holding her newborn daughter’s foot. The next photo included Aboah smiling on the surgical table and flashing the sign of the horns as her boyfriend gazed down at her.

This was followed by a sweet photo capturing a moment between Aboah and Wheatley as he sits beside her on the operating table and holds her hand.

The final image included Wheatley holding Aboah’s hand as she appears emotional during the birth.

Aboah revealed she was expecting when she made an appearance at the 2024 Met Gala on May 6.

At the Metropolitan Museum of Art fashion event, she cradled her bare bump as she arrived at the Met's iconic steps.

At the "The Garden of Time" event, she wore a red two-piece set from H&M featuring a capelet in red silk organza with petal-like tulle ruffles over a bralette embroidered with rhinestones, paired with a bubble-hem skirt in coordinating red silk taffeta.

She told Harpers Bazaar that she wanted to “do [her] Rihanna reveal moment, whatever that looks like …” Adding, “ and then I’ll probably go back into hiding.”

“I mean, I’m bringing life into this world. So I think I kind of am the theme in a way, just by being pregnant,” she added. “Going back to the pregnancy, it’s like there is an insecurity and I was either just gonna pop out a baby or do something like the Met.”
