Adorable Italian Greyhound Rocks the Cutest & Most Appropriate Halloween Costume Fail

It's hard to believe that Halloween is only one month away, but it's almost here. And while some people are already wrapped up in working on their own costumes, I am constantly getting distracted by costumes for my dog. Yes, she does have a Wonder Woman costume in the closet that she's only worn a handful of times. No, that does not mean that she doesn't need a costume this year. Yes, I will try to find her something that matches whatever my four year old decides to dress up as.

After seeing this Instagram video, though, I must say that pumpkin is now in the top contenders for this year's ensemble... but I can admit that my Boxer mix definitely will not look as elegant as the Italian Greyhound below does. Fortunately, my dog and I are both okay with that, because she deserves all the awards for this one.

On Tuesday, September 24, @tikatheiggy shared this glimpse at her Italian Greyhound, Tika, having a full on photoshoot in her pumpkin Halloween costume. I've never seen anyone who looks more ready for fall than this dog does!

"When you're taking photos in your pumpkin costume but everyone thinks you're a carrot," they wrote in the caption, adding the hashtag "#skinnylegend."

Tika really knows her angles. She posed so well for the pictures (the little tooth peeking out is really just the icing on the cake here), even putting her front legs up on a pumpkin like the little star she is. It doesn't matter to her that pumpkins are usually plump and round — she's going to work it anyway!

Commenters are, understandably, obsessed. One person wrote, "Sweetest pumpkin stick I ever did see."

More About Tika the Italian Greyhound

If you're jealous of Tika's flawless modeling skills, don't be — she's been practicing for a long time!

With more than 1.4 million followers on Instagram and 2.9 million on TikTok, it's safe to say that this pup has a very loyal fanbase, with many people falling in love with her style and the iconic outfits that her dad, Thomas Shapiro, has custom made for her.

"My initial idea was just to post cute photos of my dog online," Shapiro told Canada's Glory Media. "I never knew it would reach this level, so watching this career slowly unfold has been amazing. The opportunities that have come up because of my adorable dog have just been insane."

He also talked about how important it is to work at Tika's pace when it comes to showing off her latest fashions.

"Some days Tika is full of energy and ready to work, other days she’s just in the mood to rest, and I have to respect that," he said. "We always go at her pace."
