The cast of Abbott has been teasing this epic crossover for months now. Brunson teased the episode at San Diego Comic-Con in July. While she didn’t disclose the crossover at the time, she did say it would “change television as we know it.”
At the Emmys in September, star Sheryl Lee Ralph also told Deadline that she felt the crossover would “change television.” At the time, she said she didn’t know the details of the episode, including which show they’d be crossing over with, which would indicate that the episode was filmed very recently.
She also said that the cast had just finished filming their Halloween episode, so expect to see the Sunny crew sometime after that. The exact episode air date hasn’t been revealed yet.
Season 4 of Abbott Elementary premieres on October 9. Brunson, alongside Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker of Delicious Non-Sequitur Productions, Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein serve as executive producers.
