Abbie Chatfield announces major TV project: ‘Long time in the making’
Just a couple of weeks after it was announced that she will be joining the guessing panel on this year’s season of The Masked Singer, Abbie Chatfield has revealed that she has another major TV project in the works.
As part of Channel Ten’s Pilot Showcase, where six brand new and unique local pilots premiere exclusively on 10 Play, the former reality star will launch her pilot episode of Abbie Chats on July 4.
Channel Ten said in a statement that Abbie Chats will follow Abbie “on a mission to explore, understand and reveal worlds not commonly seen or heard from on television”.
“Abbie dives into two opposite ends of a subject, bringing her signature unapologetic brand of curiosity, passion and authenticity along, and asking all the questions the audience would never dare to,” the statement continues.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday morning, Abbie said that Abbie Chats was filmed a while ago “so it’s exciting to have it out into the world”.
“This show is not just something I’m hosting, but also a concept of my own that has been a long time in the making,” she wrote alongside a teaser poster.
“That’s all the info I have for you for now, you’ll have to find out more when you watch it from July 4 on 10 Play.”
Since coming in second place on Matt Agnew’s season of The Bachelor in 2019, Abbie has experienced quite a steady rise to fame thanks to her unapologetic and unfiltered personality.
The 27-year-old appeared on Bachelor in Paradise and won season seven of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, in addition to hosting Love Island Afterparty last year.
She also hosts her own podcast It’s A Lot and national radio show Hot Nights with Abbie Chatfield, and launched her own clothing line Verbose The Label back in May.
Pilot Showcase
Meanwhile, Pilot Showcase is set to premiere five other original pilots featuring a number of recognisable faces.
Drag icon Courtney Act will host Courtney’s Closet, a celebrity interview show where she transforms her guests “into a drag persona befitting of their personal journey”, and comedian Nikki Osborne will front a sketch comedy show titled The Bush Blonde Vs The World starring her viral character ‘Bush Barbie’.
Audiences are invited to join Narelda Jacobs, Melissa Leong and Susan Carland “in a no-holds-barred discussion about the biggest topics of today” for Dinner Guest, while Time To Die will see comedians Gen Fricker and Ben Russell being dared “to write the worst possible stand-up set for each other to perform in front of an unwitting live audience”.
The Love Experiment is described as a simple dating experiment where total strangers are paired together to ask each other “the most intimate conversations of their lives” in the hopes of finding true love.
Pilot Showcase premieres Monday, July 4 for free on 10 Play
