7 times Princess Mary and Princess Kate were royal style copycats
Princess Mary and Princess Kate don't just look similar, they also love dressing in identical outfits.
Both Crown Princess Mary of Denmark and Kate, Princess of Wales are style icons to women around the world, and to apparently each other. In fact, former Chanel director and designer Karl Lagerfeld dubbed the athletic princesses — Mary, 51, and Kate is, 41, - "royal sisters" even before Kate Middleton married Prince William in 2011.
Royal trends do dictate a little about the cut of an outfit when it comes to skirt lengths and necklines, but this fashionable pair have not only chosen outfits that look alike over the years, they've even worn identical dresses from popular designers.
One of the favourites of both Kate and Mary is the socially conscious luxury London label Beulah. The fashion house not only produces beautiful dresses but also employs vulnerable or trafficked women "to break the cycle of poverty and re-exploitation". In fact, both Kate and Mary have been seen in three different styles of Beulah dress that they both own that are nearly identical.

Another label that both princesses are fond of is New Zealander Emilia Wickstead's London. One dress that both have been photographed in is known as "The Kate" so it's unsurprising that Catherine has this dress in various colours including lilac, green and blue.
The life of a royal means many gala openings and royal events where ballgowns are worn by most of the women in attendance. But both Kate and Mary know how to elevate that style, showing that a cape dress can steal the show.
Mary has worn her grey-blue Valentino gown to at least two royal events while no one can forget the glittering gold Jenny Packham gown Kate wore to the London premiere of the last James Bond movie No Time To Die. It's no wonder the designer is a favourite of Kate's.
Kate took a leaf out of Mary's book when she wore a black-and-white Roland Mouret gown to Top Gun: Maverick premiere. Mary had worn a similar monochrome gown by Preen to a gala dinner at the Nordic Museum in Seattle, Washington a few years earlier.
Kate's choice of the Stella McCartney Ridley Stretch dress paired with a Cartier necklace was replicated by Mary five months later with a similar cobalt blue dress and necklace while visiting the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in December 2012.
Princess Mary wore a stunning Jesper Hovring silver gown in Melbourne on an official visit to Australia at around the same time as Kate chose a similar Jenny Packham dress dinner and reception held at St James' Palace in aid of the National Memorial Arboretum appeal. The one-shoulder ballgown style is a classic that both Princesses have returned to over the years.
And it's not just a passion for fashion that the two royals share. Both princesses have a sporty side, with Mary taking part in the annual Danish Royal Run in May this year while Kate got competitive during a fun game of wheelchair rugby on October 6.
Both have also been spotted sailing and, of course, they couldn't be involved without the kit. It even allows the royals to go incognito, blending in with the rest of the yacht crew.
With matching fashion choices, similar interests and given both women will one day be Queen, it's little wonder these two are firm friends.
