$6 Coles buy a surprise lockdown hit with shoppers: 'Get some'

A $6 pack of frozen treats from Coles is bringing some joy to Aussies stuck in lockdown after the budget buy went viral on TikTok.

The supermarket's 'Frozen Bake At Home Pain Au Chocolat' was given the chef's kiss of approval by TikTok user Lucy Helena aka @lucyhelenak, who shared a video of the goodies before and after popping them in the oven.

$6 Coles treat a hit

"Seriously. Get some," they urged in the caption for the clip, which has been viewed over 80,000 times so far.

Needless to say, the golden, flaky pastries — which take just 20 minutes to bake — had fellow TikTokkers drooling and desperate to get their hands on a pack (or three).

"I've been complaining for days that we don't have a local patisserie in my 5km [radius] in Melbourne, I'm gonna check out Coles asap," one wrote in the comments.

Others were worried that the French-made frozen food would fly off the shelves following Lucy's popular TikTok video.

"Nooo don't sell these out, they're too good," one user begged.

"Haha sometimes secrets are worth telling," replied Lucy, adding, "I think we all need it during lockdown."

A Coles spokesperson tells Yahoo Lifestyle that the product is a 'very popular' yet permanent line that's available in stores nationwide.

"Our Coles Frozen Bake At Home Pain Au Chocolat are really popular with customers – they’re just like the delicious, golden flaky croissants you find cafes but you can bake them from the comfort of your own home for just $6 for a six pack.

"They're made in France from the very best chocolate croissant connoisseurs in the world."

Prefer something less chocolatey? Coles also has a six-pack of all-butter croissants that come from the same french supplier.
