$25 Kmart pants a 'beautiful' alternative to $499 designer pair
We’re only two weeks into Spring but the fashionistas among us are already refreshing their wardrobes with pieces that are perfect for the warm weather to come.
Case in point is Instagram influencer Angel Perez who has kicked off the new season by donning a bright and breezy pair of $25 ‘Pleated Jeans’ from Kmart in anticipation of sunny days ahead.
In a snap shared to her page, @styling_mumandbub, Angel paired her Kmart buy with an animal-print crop blouse by Ally Fashion and nude heels from Kmart as well.
She tells Yahoo Lifestyle that the cotton and elastane and pants were exactly what she was searching for.
“I never had a wide-leg jean and I was looking for light-coloured ones so when I saw those jeans online I knew had to grab them,” she says.
“They’re long on me though because I’m really short,” she adds, explaining that she opted to go without the dark brown belt the pants came with.
Featuring a flattering high waist, wide leg and pleat detail at the front, the pants come in an off-white colour described as ‘ecru’ making them a chic yet casual must-have for picnics, parties and the upcoming silly season.
And, at just $25 they’re substantially less expensive than alternative options by designer brands such as Aje ($295 for their ‘Mimosa Cove’ trousers) and St Agni ($499 for their 100 per cent silk Kisho pants).
In another snap, Angel kept it low-key by tucking a white singlet top into her jeans which she topped off with a blush-coloured long cardi and felt hat.

Her followers were entranced with both her outfits particularly the pleated jeans.
“I love how high waisted those trousers are,” one follower wrote in the comments.
“Lovvvve this outfit perfect for spring,” praised another.
One fan asked if the ‘beautiful’ pants were a new item as they were on a hunt for a pair of their own.
“So beautiful. Are the white pants recent, I went looking for them after seeing your post?” they wrote.
$9 shirt a sell-out
It’s not the first time Angel has sparked a frenzy among Kmart fans. Back in July, she appeared to be one of the first to showcase a $9 corduroy shirt that’s since become a must-have piece.
Whether buttoned, unbuttoned, tucked in or left loose, the beige corduroy shirt was a certified hit with style-savvy Instagrammers and shoppers alike and at last check was almost sold-out online.
Gen from @thisisgenevieve_ wowed her followers by tucking her shirt into a pair of light-wash denim jeans which she paired with black leather slides and gold jewellery.
While Maria from @thebudgetsavvygirl used the ‘textured’ piece to break up an all-black outfit.
In her post, Angel revealed that she opted for a size 12 shirt ‘for a more oversized look’ which she left half-untucked from her brown jeans.
